Meet our Professional Team

Borrowing from Confucius, who wisely proclaimed that “You cannot open a book without learning something,” we believe that students cannot leave DASH without becoming a fluent and confident speaker of Chinese. Our teaching philosophy is based on our respect for the student’s desire to learn as much as possible each and every session. This philosophy drives our curricula and teaching methods and is ingrained in each of our dedicated teachers.

“Teaching is my passion, and witnessing the success of my students is one of my most joyous moments.”

Teacher Sofia is a Filipino-Chinese living in Manila for several decades. She loves reading Chinese books where she enjoys learning about Chinese history, culture, and traditions.

She also loves sharing what she knows with my family and friends. When she was still in college at Adamson University, she took part-time jobs as a tutor to help pay for her tuition and it was during this time that she developed her passion for teaching. She continued this passion by being a Chinese teacher and coordinator in Jubilee Christian Academy (JCA) for many years.

At the end of 2008, being the education enthusiast that she was, she decided to open DASH. With her decades of experience in teaching the Chinese language, she was determined to make this school a success. What got her through the struggles was seeing all her former students become successful. They have become her source of strength and inspiration to continue improving the curriculum in DASH.

Vice Principal and Co-Founder
Ms. Ming Chen Loung

Teacher Loung was born into a family of teachers in Taiwan. Growing up, she witnessed her parents teaching their students which inspired her to become a teacher as well.

“Under my guidance, each and every class will be a paradise for those wishing to learn Chinese.”

Teacher Loung was born into a family of teachers in Taiwan. Growing up, she witnessed her parents teaching their students which inspired her to become a teacher as well.

Later, she came to the Philippines and became an elementary Chinese teacher in Jubilee Christian Academy (JCA). She became the Chinese department head of the elementary school and preschool in 1998 and 2002 respectively.

At the end of 2008, she decided to help establish DASH. She is very meticulous when it comes to handling her students as well as training the teachers and teaching aides. She believes it is important to employ fun and engaging teaching methods in mobilizing students’ motivation so they will be able to learn more effectively and efficiently.
